Rutgers' Committee on Efficiency and Entrepreneurship is a long-term initiative to optimize the use of university resources and cultivate a proactive approach to expanding revenues. The goal is to engage the entire university community in identifying new ways to position Rutgers for the future.
Announced by President Richard L. McCormick in his September 2006
Annual Address to the University Community, this permanent committee is chaired by Jeffrey Apfel, Senior Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer. Specifically, the committee is charged with:
- implementing cost efficiencies while maintaining and enhancing academic
quality;
- fostering an entrepreneurial spirit to maximize revenues from government,
industry, and private sources.
To reach these objectives, the Steering Committee has established seven
working groups.
